FAQ for the Parents

All you need to know ahead of our School Holiday Camp sessions...

Can my child be in with their friends?

If you would like to book your child into the same group as attending friends, please book them into the same group or book together.

Groups are made up in advance of the camp and requests for changes on the day or during the week of camp are not possible.

My child has a medical condition / severe allergy, can they still come to camp?

Absolutely! Please provide as much detail as you can in the medical form, and feel free to remind us on the day.

Are all camp staff qualified?

All of our camp staff are registered with the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undergo regular in-house training for group management, safety protocols and professional development. All camp staff also hold an up-to-date First Aid Certificate.

Our instructors are fully qualified for the activities they run and are registered with the relevant bodies for their sports, such as the Scottish Canoeing Association (SCA) and Archery GB.

Where can I find the medical waiver?

Our camp waivers can be found here and only need to be completed once per child, regardless of how many days you’ve booked.

Where can I find updates and photos from camp?

Even though camp is a parent-free zone, we like to keep you all up-to-date with what’s going on!

Updates and photographs from our activities can be found across the following social media accounts:

Facebook: @westendadventure

Instagram: @westendadventure

Twitter: @westendadventur

Photographs and videos will only be shared if parents/guardians have given permission to do so in our medical form. If you have any questions about our social media presence, or would like to see our Photography and Filming Policy Statement, then please get in touch.

I am worried about my child’s safety…

As an Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) provider, we maintain high quality safety management practices in everything that we do.

That means that, whether we’re in the water, on the land or abseiling down a crag, you can count on us doing it safely.

Do you have to book in on the same group each day?

You don’t have to remain in one group, but doing so will greatly reduce the chance of your child repeating an activity.

We recommend trying to stick to one group as best you can!

Are you insured?

Yes, our camps are fully insured.

Do you provide wetsuits?

Yes, we provide wetsuits!

With that said, if your child has their own wetsuit already, then they are more than welcome to bring it along.
