Our summer camps Glasgow, and wider outdoor adventure camps are designed for families looking for fun, safe and action-packed outdoor experiences for their kids. As one of the best summer camps in Scotland, we also run seasonal outdoor camp sessions alongside summer camps and Easter holiday camps, giving children aged 6+ the chance to experience real outdoor adventure in every school break.
Our outdoor adventure camps take place at a stunning freshwater loch just outside Glasgow and include rock climbing, archery, abseiling, bushcraft, and more. Every summer camp day is led by qualified, PVG-checked instructors, with no experience needed and a warm welcome for nervous first-timers. What to bring along?
Weather in Scotland can change quickly, so please come prepared for all conditions. Our outdoor adventure camps run in rain or shine, so the right kit makes sure children stay warm, comfortable and ready to enjoy every activity whatever the Scottish weather brings!

Each day begins with drop-off at 8:30am at West End Outdoors, 190 Milngavie Road, G61 3DX, where our instructors will be on hand to greet your child and get them ready for a full day of adventure. Pick-up is from the same place at 4:30pm, when you’ll be reunited with a tired, muddy and very happy explorer.
Our Outdoor Camp Activities
Our school holiday camp activities change across the week depending on the weather, the group’s energy, and what everyone is enjoying most. Think plenty of adventure, a few muddy trainers, and lots of stories on the way home for you to hear at the end of the day.
Paddle Boarding
ActivityIs there anything better than being out on the open water? Start by learning the fundamental skills needed to stand and confidently navigate a paddleboard. Once you’re comfortable, the fun begins with exciting games like paddleboard Jenga!
Hillwalking
ActivityHave you ever ascended into the clouds? Challenge yourself with a Hillwalking session to reach new heights and enjoy stunning views along the way.
Team Challenge
ActivityTeam Challenge is all about developing communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills (as well as having fun while you’re at it)!
Climbing & Abseiling
ActivityClimbing is a challenging session which demands concentration, teamwork and a good bit of bravery!
Bushcraft
ActivityCan you build a sturdy shelter, light a fire and ID your way through a forest? That’s what Bushcraft is all about!

ActivityLearn the art of aiming with step-by-step instruction from our experienced archers and you might even hit a gold!

Our camps are designed for children aged 6 and over. Activities are adapted to suit different ages, confidence levels and experience, so beginners are always welcome.

Drop off starts at 8:30am and collection is at 4:30pm each day. Your child will spend the full day outdoors taking part in a mix of activities and games.

Please send your child with a packed lunch, water, spare clothes, suitable footwear, swimwear, a towel and weather-appropriate items like sun cream or midge spray. Outdoor clothing that can get muddy is always best.

The camps still run in typical Scottish weather and activities are adapted to conditions on the day. We always prioritise safety while making sure the children still have a brilliant time outdoors.

Yes. You can book individual days or full weeks depending on what suits your schedule during the school holidays.

Absolutely. It’s very common for children joining our summer camps in Glasgow and our adventure camps to feel a little nervous at first. Our instructors are experienced in helping children settle in gently, build confidence at their own pace, and feel included from day one. Most parents are amazed at how quickly their child relaxes, makes friends, and starts enjoying the activities.

No experience is needed at all. Our summer camps and adventure camp sessions are designed for complete beginners through to more confident adventurers. Whether it’s climbing, archery, or bushcraft, everything is taught step-by-step in a safe, supportive environment so every child can take part and enjoy it.
