West End Activity Adventurer – Weekends

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced, enthusiastic and motivated adventurer to join us at West End Adventure.

West End Adventure provides fantastic outdoor adventures from its base in the West End of Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a fun and exceptional team of staff.

As a West End Adventurer, you will be expected to lead various adventures including kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and archery to all ages. The ability to make dynamic risk assessments, monitor, understand and communicate on an excellent level to all our customers is a key part of this role.

This role is for weekends from the start of April through to the end of August, opportunities for full-time work may also be available for the right candidate.

Uniform for both on and off the water is subsidised and essential for all staff.

Applicants must hold

Outdoor First Aid Qualification – 16 hours

UKCC L1 – Kayak / Canoe

Archery Leader

Clean driver’s license

Desirable Qualifications

UKCC L2 Kayak / Canoe

SUP Discipline Support Module

D1 + E category driver’s license

This role is full time during the school holidays (April 2 Weeks, July / August 6 Weeks and October 1 Week) working 5 days out of 7.

Uniform for both on and off the water is subsidised and essential for all staff.

West End Adventurer – Group Leader

This is the ideal role for somebody wanting to start out a career in the outdoors. As a group leader you will help the activity adventurer with the day’s activities and act in a supervisory role to make sure that your group are ready for their next activity.

Full of initiative, you must be able to think on your feet and have excellent problem solving and communication skills. A key part of your role is to organise and run a variety of non-adventurous activities before and after the day’s adventures.

What sets a West End Adventure Group Leader apart is their willingness to learn, their energy and enthusiasm. You could be running an arts and craft session in the morning, then helping a young person overcome their fears before helping to solve initiative problems in the afternoon. No two days will be the same.

No formal qualifications are required for this role, however, a qualification in child care would be advantageous.

This role is full time during the school holidays (2 weeks in April, 6 Weeks in the Summer and 1 Week in October)

Café Supervisor / Staff

The West End Adventure Café is a new addition in 2019. We are looking for the right person to take on the role of café supervisor and for staff for our new café.

Our café is not just for our customers of our adventurers but also for members of the local community. Staff should have experience of working in a café before, have great energy and a fantastic ability to communicate with all our customers.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who need an extra hand into employment who would like an experience of working in a fun and vibrant café.

Hours will range from 40 hours down to 4 hours per week, please state how many hours you are looking for in your application.
